About Steynberg Gallery
Steynberg Gallery is housed in a 1932 Art Deco building that used to be a coffee
mill. The owner, Peter J. Steynberg, started the Gallery in 1999.
About Our Exhibits
The gallery features a large permanent collection of Shona sculptures representing
many major Zimbabwe artists. These sculptures are suitable for both gardens
or indoors, will enhance both traditional and modern homes.
Every month the gallery feature an exhibition of regional and international
artists ranging from paintings, pottery, photography, sculpture, ethnic and
tribal art.
The owner of the gallery, Peter J. Steynberg has a permanent exhibition of
vibrant oil paintings influenced by both his African past and American present.
Come to our gallery for unique affordable one of a kind gift items. The
gallery has a wonderful selection of beaded handwork in the form of jewelry and home decorations items including woven
baskets that will enhance your
home and help support self help projects. The proceeds go to benefit job
creation projects and poverty alleviation programs in Africa. We support
Fair trade and AIDS programs in South Africa. We also carry Shona
sculpture from Zimbabwe, African masks, African metal sculptures, jewelry, ceramics and glass.
